Diane Lane to Lead David Cromer-Helmed SWEET BIRD OF YOUTH at Goodman Theatre This Fall

Artistic Director Robert Falls announced today that he will direct a major revival and new adaptation of Measure for Measure, Shakespeare's darkly comic collision of vice and virtue, in Goodman Theatre's 2012/2013 season, March 9 - April 14, 2013. Also, director David Cromer announced partial casting for his production of Sweet Bird of Youth: Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award-nominee Diane Lane appears as Princess Kosmonopolis and Finn Wittrock, who recently appeared in Broadway's Death of a Salesman with Philip Seymour Hoffman, is cast as the young-actor-turned-gigolo Chance Wayne. Complete casting to be announced soon. The production opens the Goodman's new season, September 15 - October 21; a September 24 Season Opening Benefit will take place at The Standard Club. For over twenty-five years, the late Bradshaw Smith (Founder & Executive Producer of "Broadway Beat" and Applause Video) was the theater world's preeminent videographer, capturing over 1,000 performances on Broadway, off-Broadway, in cabaret halls and beyond that now, because of him, live on today. Bradshaw Smith died on January 16, 2012, at age 57, following a sudden and severe stroke. To conclude the intimate memorial, Bradshaw's longtime friend and editor, Jonathan Frank, compiled the best of Bradshaw's work as a video artist. FREUD'S LAST SESSION to Close on Two-Year Anniversary at New World Stages, 7/22

FREUD'S LAST SESSION, the runaway hit play by Mark St. Germain, will end its run on Sunday, July 22nd at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). The date also marks the show's two-year anniversary. Upon the New York closing of FREUD'S LAST SESSION on July 22nd, the production will have played a total of 775 performances and eight previews.

FREUD'S LAST SESSION, the runaway hit play by Mark St. Germain, celebrated its 750th New York performance yesterday, June 30th at New World Stages (240 West 50th Street). FREUD'S LAST SESSION is the winner of the 2011 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play. In celebration of the official end of the school year, the show's producers recently released an additional block of $20 student tickets for all performances this summer.

A. R. Gurney to Join Road Less Traveled Productions' Advisory Board

Gurney, who has enjoyed a fruitful career as a nationally recognized and produced playwright, has agreed to join local theatre company Road Less Traveled Productions' (RLTP's) National Advisory Board. The RLTP National Advisory Board was formed in 2009 to serve as a source of inspiration and reference for the company's artistic mission and vision. Mr. Gurney will join theatre luminaries Alec Baldwin, Eric Bogosian, Scott Ellis, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and James Rebhorn on the Board.
