Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced principal casting for the Globe's 2011 Shakespeare Festival, performed in repertory in the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

Whatsonstage.com suggests today that The King's Speech, currently out in theaters starring Colin Firth, Geoffrey Rush and Helena Bonham Carter, may be getting a stage adaptation in London. According to the report: 'Speaking to the New York Times at the recent Screen Actors Guild Awards, the film's writer David Seidler - who is nominated for a best original screenplay Oscar - said: 'It will be on the West End of London in the fall, and Adrian Noble is directing it.'

Cheasapeake Shakespeare Company's Managing Director, Lesley Malin, was elected Vice President of the Shakespeare Theatre Association at the 2011 conference held in Boulder, Colorado this January. The season also features Hershey Felder in Maestro: The Art of Leonard Bernstein in the Old Globe Theatre. Preceding Bernstein is a 10-day limited engagement of Hershey Felder in George Gershwin Alone. The West Coast Premiere of John Morogiello's romantic comedy, Engaging Shaw, in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre will complete the season.

Robert Foxworth plays King Lear and Bruce Turk the Fool in Shakespeare's tragedy, directed by Festival Artistic Director Adrian Noble. The crowns are swapped in Alan Bennett's The Madness of George III, also helmed by Noble, where Miles Anderson will play King George III and Foxworth will play Dr. Willis. The Festival also includes Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew directed by Ron Daniels with Jonno Roberts and Emily Swallow as the two sparring lovers.

Paula Brancati, Lauren Collins, Wendy Crewson, Cynthia Dale, Andrea Martin, and Louise Pitre are officially set to be the first cast of the Toronto production of LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE. As in the initial New York staging of the play by Nora and Delia Ephron, the production will feature a company of six that rotates in four-week cycles.
