Harkness Foundation Executive Director Theodore S. Bartwink Announces Retirement

The Harkness Foundation for Dance announced the retirement of its beloved long-time Executive Director, Theodore S. Bartwink as of January 31, 2014. Mr. Bartwink, 85 years old, is continuing physical therapy and rehabilitation from the grievous injuries suffered when run down by a car near his home in Kew Gardens, Queens, NY in February 2013.

INTERMEZZO Dance Company, founded by American Ballet Theatre soloist Craig Salstein, will be featured in Edward Henkel's MovementTalks on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 8pm. Steel River Playhouse Welcomes Gene Terruso as New Artistic Director

Steel River Playhouse has announced Gene Terruso as its new Artistic Director. Located in the heart of Pottstown's historic district, Steel River is a growing nonprofit performance and education facility. To introduce Mr. Terruso to the community, Steel River will be hosting a series of "meet and greets", January through March at the Playhouse. At these events, visitors will have a chance to mingle with the new Artistic Director and other staff, enjoy entertainment by select artists, engage in in a formal Q&A, and tour the facility.

Jon Weber, a spectacular solo pianist, whose brilliantly crafted spontaneous orchestrations easily place him in the rarefied company of today's elite jazz musicians, has been praised by All About Jazz as " a virtuoso - pure and simple." Harris Center for the Arts will serve as the venue for Mr. Weber as he presents From Joplin to Jarrett: 100 Years of Piano Jazz in Folsom beginning January 23rd.

2013 Female Vocalist of the Year from the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs, Stacy Sullivan has appeared in venues around the world, from The Brasserie Zedel in London to The Cafe Carlyle in New York. ON KENTUCKY AVENUE, a musical revue based loosely on fact and mostly fiction about the people and performers who took the stage and filled the tables at the majestic Club Harlem 'on Kentucky Avenue' in the north section of Atlantic City from the 1930s until the late 1980s, will make its NYC commercial stage debut at STAGE72/THE TRIAD, 158 West 72nd Street, on Sunday, February 2, with performances at 3pm and 7pm and Monday, February 3 at 7pm in honor of Black History Month.
