Pittsburgh CLO is announced casting for the 28th annual production of A MUSICAL CHRISTMAS CAROL, December 6-22 at the Byham Theater. This year's production will feature lavish costumes, thrilling effects and a talented ensemble of both new and returning performers. Broadway star Mark Jacoby returns to Pittsburgh CLO to lead the cast as Ebenezer Scrooge. In this intimate evening of song and reflection, Peter and Paul perform their enduring anthems of social change, including "If I Had a Hammer," " Blowin' in the Wind," and "Puff the Magic Dragon," among others. They will also remember their contributions to the civil rights movement and the woman who completed their trio of positivity, the late Mary Travers.

The National Museum of American Jewish History (NMAJH) presents Power of Protest: The Movement to Free Soviet Jews, a new exhibition exploring one of the most successful human rights campaigns to date. The panel exhibition showcases Americans' efforts in the late 1960s through 1990 to free refuseniks Jews who lived in the Soviet Union and were denied the rights to live freely, practice Judaism, or leave the country due to their religion. It is on view at NMAJH December 6, 2017 through January 15, 2018, and will then travel to a number of venues across the country.

For one night, folk music legend Pete Seeger's legacy in song was celebrated by a diverse array of musical talent. The Kennedy Center Concert Hall stage held a who's who including multiple Grammy winners, living legends and up-and-coming artists performing in tribute to the singer and activist Pete Seeger. Hosted by Larry Groce of National Public Radio's MOUNTAIN STAGE, the long and satisfying evening was officially entitled PETE SEEGER AND THE POWER OF SONG: TRIBUTE TO A FOLK LEGEND. No frills, no fuss, just great music performed with the same simplicity and power Seeger was known for during his own long career.

Honky Tonk Heaven: Legend of the Broken Spoke will open the 8th Annual Houston Cinema Arts Festival on Thursday, November 10 at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston and will be followed by a live performance from popular Texas country artist Dale Watson.
