The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) and the Los Angeles Dance Workers Coalition announced panel selections of 22 dancers and choreographers who reside or work in Council Districts 2, 3, 8, and 10 to create online performances for the pilot program, Dance in the Districts.

The independent Belle, trapped in her provincial town, finds her life turned upside down when she takes her father's place as a captive in an enchanted castle ruled by an angry Beast. With help from the creatures in the castle and her own kindheartedness, Belle finds the prince inside the Beast and works to break the curse on the mysterious castle and all of its inhabitants. A fantastically enjoyable adventure, this classic musical love story is filled with unforgettable characters and dazzling production numbers, including: "Be Our Guest" and the beloved title song.

American Lyric Theater's popular series of public libretto readings, The Living Libretto, continues this season at the new National Opera Center. Next up is LA REINA, with Libretto by Laura Sosa Pedroza; Music by Jorge Sosa and Commissioned by American Lyric Theater.
