The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Jerome Robbins Dance Division today announced that dance and democracy will be the focus of its 2021 Dance Research Fellowship, and that applications are currently being accepted.

The Jerome Robbins Dance Division has selected its new class of Dance Research Fellows. Selected from a record number of applicants, these researchers and artists will delve into the Dance Division's archives to explore the theme of dance and immigration.

In honor of the Dance Division's 75th anniversary year, each of the five curators who have overseen the collection during its history -- Genevieve Oswald, Madeleine Nichols, Michelle Potter, Jan Schmidt and current curator Linda Murray -- selected a particular collection within the Dance Division's holdings for one researcher to explore. A sixth collection was selected by members of the Dance Division's expert staff.

Center Theatre Group's production of 'Elliot, A Soldier's Fugue' by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Quiara Alegria Hudes opened last night, February 3. Directed by Shishir Kurup, the production will continue through February 25, 2018, at the Kirk Douglas Theatre.

The Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) announcesJourneys as the theme for the 25th Anniversary Fall Festival.
