An evening of four dramatic readings of plays by women will be featured at 'Women, Theater and the Holocaust,' sponsored by Remember the Women Institute in recognition of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom HaShoah.

Walking around New York City can be a kind of time travel, as we see old buildings still standing and sometimes what appears when other old buildings are demolished. But if you could step into a time machine and travel back in time for real, to a particular place and meet particular people, where, when and who would that be?

A glorious group of ghosts are converging on Theater for the New City - and it has nothing to do with the theater's annual Halloween ball slated for later in the year.

Where Do All the Ghosts Go? is a dark comedy about the demolition of a historic NYC building and the ghosts of significant people who have made it their post-life home. 'The Lady Was a Gentleman' is a docu-comedy about the 19th century lesbian actress Charlotte Cushman (spouse of sculptor Emma Stebbins, who designed Central Park's Bethesda Fountain). 

TOSOS ("The Other Side of Silence") is dedicated to preserving the theatrical heritage of the LGBT community through the development of new plays by emerging artists as well as revivals of established works. Our productions honestly explore the unique LGBT experience and cultural sensibilities in a life-affirming and respectful way.   TOSOS was originally formed in 1974 by playwright Doric Wilson. During its five-year existence, this first TOSOS featured new plays and revivals by playwrights from Brendan Behan and Noel Coward to Terrence McNally, Robert Patrick, Martin Sherman, and Lanford Wilson.

In 'Allen Wilder 2.0' by Matt Morillo, a director of softcore porn returns from Hollywood to his dead parents' house in Levittown, LI to sort through his belongings and re-examine the shame of his life. Can his ex-babysitter, recently divorced, soothe the wounds of failure he feels?  The 'trap of regrets' in each of these two gets comic treatment in this new play, whose premiere will be presented by Theater for the New City January 7 to 31, 2016, directed by the author.

The production will feature Robert Homeyer, Steph van Vlack, Aristotle Stamat, Oliver Thrun, Matthew Angel, Mark Lang, Kim Vogels, and Lissa Moira*. The creative team will include Set and Lighting Design by Mark Marcante, Costumes and Props by Lytza Colon, Sound Design by Roy Chang, and Choreography by Angela Harriell. The Boomerang Theatre Company (Tim Errickson, Artistic Director; Sue Abbott, Managing Director) announced addition casting for their 2012 outdoor production of Shakespeare's Hamlet, adapted and directed by Artistic Director Tim Errickson and starring Zack Calhoon as Hamlet and Mark Souza as Laertes.
