Kathy Garver, who played the iconic role of “Cissy” on one of the most popular TV sitcoms of all time, 'Family Affair,” is returning to star in the upcoming new series “Aunt Cissy.”  The series has finished principle filming and is in its final days of post-production.  The date for the premiere of the pilot has been set for April 2020, says producer and creator Scott Travis of Travis Hunt Productions.

Last week, the cast of forthcoming web series,  Aunt Cissy came together for a theatrical table read.  The cast read the entire first season episodes of the series to an invited industry guest list.  The reading was held at The Loft Ensemble in North Hollywood, CA.

David F. Slone has been blessed to spend much of his life attending and performing in fabulous shows. Nonetheless, he's particularly giddy to be able to celebrate his the culmination of his fifth decade on the planet by presenting this ridiculously eclectic evening of song, dance, magic, circus, comedy, and more!

Writer/director Sean Abley has wisely chosen this troupe of talented actors to be his Bitches. All women characters (performed over-the-top by males in men's clothing) sharply deliver some snappy one-liners with some delicious drag queen bulls-eyed intensities.

Does genius have to be accompanied by totally a-hole behavior? John Stark directs his uniformly strong cast in a slick, strong-handed pace, in which they vividly exhibit the demons alternately possessing and inspiring the playwright's writings.

Last week, The Southern California Motion Picture Council presented their Annual Golden Halo Award Presentation. Among those being honored were Ja'net DuBois, Bridget MacDonald and John Pierre, but the evenings highlight was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to actress, comedienne and humanitarian, Geri Jewell. Among those in attendance to honor Ms. Jewell, were Alison Arngrim, Ed Asner, Kelsey Collins, June Faray, Ford Austin, Rose Marie, Margaret O'Brien and a special letter sent by Norman Lear. The Brick Theater and Third Lows Productions continue their innovative theater series Penny Dreadful on Saturday, October 18 at 11:00 PM and Sunday, October 19 at 2:00 PM, with the premiere of Penny Dreadful Episode 7 - The Peril of Penny, a Damsel Lost in Time! The newest chapter in the serialized story marks the beginning of Season Two that will consist of six new plays through March 2009.

The Metropolitan Room has announced its March schedule of cabaret performers.

The cast of Into the Weeds: The Bill Weeden Songbook will welcome guest star Lisa Brescia to the show as it's guest star for the production's final performance on Saturday, December 2. The performance will begin at 11 pm at the Laurie Beechman Theatre (407 West 42nd Street at 9th Avenue).

Marty Thomas will lend his tenor to the musical revue Into the Weeds: The Bill Weeden Songbook at the Laurie Beechman Theatre this coming Saturday, November 18th.

This Saturday, November 4, the cast of Into the Weeds welcomes back Stephanie D'Abruzzo as the guest star of the evening.
