New York City Center is presenting the NYC premiere of 'Song of Songs' featuring gorgeous choreography by Pam Tanowitz perfectly set to David Lang’s exceptional choral music performed live on stage.

Picnic at Hanging Rock, a new musical adaptation by hit songwriter/composer Greta Gertler Gold and the O'Neill Center's Eric Kocher Award- winning playwright Hilary Bell, will receive an industry reading on Thursday, November 16 at 3:00pm and Friday, November 17 at 11:00am at Open Jar Studios (1601 Broadway).

The Town Hall opens its 2022/23 concert series spotlighting women composers who have shaped American culture with the New York premiere of Meredith Monk's MEMORY GAME, Saturday, October 15 (8 pm).

The Town Hall has announced details on a series of concerts spotlighting four esteemed women composers who have shaped American culture over the decades: the “Mother of Contemporary Gospel music,” Dr. Elbernita “Twinkie” Clark; legendary singer-songwriter Judy Collins; acclaimed opera composer Laura Kaminsky; and trailblazing composer/singer Meredith Monk.

The Fisher Center at Bard will present a project that exemplifies its place on the cultural landscape: a new dance setting of the biblical Song of Songs created by the Fisher Center’s internationally celebrated choreographer-in-residence, Pam Tanowitz, with new music from Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang.

Internationally acclaimed composer, director and performer Meredith Monk will premiere concert performances of her upcoming interdisciplinary, evening-length music theater work, Indra's Net, on November 12 & 13. Presented by Mills Performing Arts and The House Foundation for the Arts, with the Mills College Music Department.

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, located at 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), will present the eleventh season of Great Music in a Great Space under the direction of Kent Tritle, Director of Cathedral Music and Organist.

Kent Tritle's 2021-22 season schedule features a full slate of events: he leads five concerts at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine with the Cathedral Choir, four with Oratorio Society of New York, four with Musica Sacra, and three with groups at the Manhattan School of Music.

Cantaloupe Music will release Meredith Monk's new album MEMORY GAME, featuring Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble and the Bang on a Can All-Stars, on March 27, 2020. The first track from the album, “Downfall,” is available today, exclusively from Apple Music. Meredith Monk & Vocal Ensemble and the Bang on a Can All-Stars will perform MEMORY GAME at the Big Ears Festival (March 26-29, 2020; Knoxville, TN) and Bang on a Can's inaugural Long Play Festival (May 1-3, 2020; Brooklyn, NY).

On Thursday, October 26, Meredith Monk, trailblazing composer, singer and interdisciplinary artist, was awarded the 24th annual Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize at a packed ceremony at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM).

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced Lincoln Center's 2017 White Light Festival, which runs from October 18 through November 15. With more than 35 events presented in 13 venues throughout the city, including U.S. and New York premieres and nine commissions, the eighth annual international festival will explore transcendence, interior illumination, and faith in the human spirit, as exhibited through artistic expression across continents and centuries. The multidisciplinary festival takes its name from a quotation by Estonian composer Arvo Part: "Icouldcomparemymusic to white light, which contains all colors. Only a prism can divide the colors and make them appear; this prism could be the spirit of the listener."
