Three Brothers Theatre is pleased to announce casting and creatives for their 2019 season musical, SPRING AWAKENING. SPRING AWAKENING features music by Duncan Sheik, book & lyrics by Steven Sater, based on the play by Frank Wedekind, and directed by Marie Tredway*.

Metropolis presents Stephen Sondheim's classic musical farce A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum through June 29, 2019. Broadway's greatest farce promises to have audiences rolling in the aisles. This fast-paced, witty, and irreverent comedy is one of the funniest musicals ever written.

Citadel Theatre Company, an Equity-affiliated professional company performing in Lake Forest, will stage the second production of its new Theatre for Young Audiences programming with JUNIE B. JONES, THE MUSICAL, a delightful adaptation of four of Barbara Park's best-selling books, brought to life in a genuinely comical (and not strictly-for-kids) musical.

Citadel Theatre Company's November-December production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT has been extended due to popular demand and will play an additional five performances, according to Citadel Artistic Director Scott Phelps. Originally scheduled to close on Sunday, December 23, the musical will now run through Sunday, December 30.

Cast and crew were announced today for Citadel Theatre Company's November-December production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT, according to founding Artistic Director Scott Phelps. The production will be directed by Robert D. Estrin, who most recently at Citadel directed the company's Jeff Award-nominated EXPLORERS CLUB and has also helmed the musicals A CHRISTMAS STORY, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM and CABARET.

Chicago's premier outdoor professional theatre, First Folio Theatre (Mayslake Peabody Estate, 31st St. & Rt. 83), presents the world premiere of SHREW'D!, a new musical based on Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew, adapted by Executive Director David Rice and Lydia Hiller, with music by Christopher Kriz and lyrics by Lydia Hiller and David Rice.  Directed by Johanna McKenzie Miller, SHREW'D! previews July 11-13, opens July 14 and runs through August 19, 2018.
