Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th St.). The evening will star Charles Busch in the title role, originally played by Linda Lavin, and assembles the entire original all-star Broadway cast including Linda Lavin, Michele Lee, Tony Roberts and Anil Kumar as well as original director Lynne Meadow. All proceeds will benefit The Actors Fund.

Performed in association with East West Players and directed by Snehal Desai, the reading will feature Suzy Nakamura of ABC's DR. KEN as Mae Pollitt. Also joining Nakamura are Laura Kai Chen, Ryun Yu, C.S. Lee, Amy Hill, Dana Lee, Jenapher Zheng, Greg Watanabe and Anil Kumar Bhardwarj. East West Players' new Artistic Director Snehal Desai ambitiously tackles the US premiere of playwright Anupama Chandrasekhar's FREE OUTGOING as his directorial debut. FREE OUTGOING centers on a single mother and her two teenagers living in a very conservative Chennai, India. Strong performances from the talented cast of five vividly illustrate the consequences of a video of the 15-year-old daughter engaged in a sex act going viral.
East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for the US premiere of Free Outgoing, which Time Out, London has praised as "…a gripping and insightful story", and The Independent has called "…profoundly affecting." Written by Anupama Chandrasekhar and directed by Snehal Desai in his directorial debut as EWP Artistic Director, Free Outgoing begins performances on February 9 and runs until March 12, 2017, with opening night on February 15.

Directed by Reena Dutt, Rise and Shine opens tonight, September 13 at 8pm. The show will run through October 12 only.
