Dezart Performs Nominated for 27 Desert Theatre League Awards

The Desert Theatre League announced their Desert Star Award nominations for the 2016-17 Season on August 1. Dezart Performs received 27 nominations in 18 categories including Outstanding Comedy, Outstanding Drama,Outstanding Director, Outstanding Actor, Outstanding Actress & Outstanding Sound Design, to name a few.

Dezart Performs, one of the Coachella Valley's preeminent theatre companies, recognizes that the performing arts promote greater understanding, provoke insightful discussion and enrich the life and culture of a community. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre company, its mission is to provide an artistic home for bold and cutting-edge plays, creating an atmosphere of artistic growth for actors, directors and other creative artists who uniquely contribute to the diverse theatrical environment in the Coachella Valley.

The annual Desert Star Awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 8 in Sun City Palm Desert. The special evening will be attended by over 300 members of the performing arts community to celebrate excellence in theatre, dance, music, cabaret and opera in the Coachella Valley.
