As part of its 20th Season, Mad Cow Theatre is delighted to announce the 2016-2017 schedule of staged readings and workshops for its third edition of Teatro Español and Clases de Teatro.

The program, which Mad Cow Theatre founded in 2014, is committed to bringing great Spanish theatre to Central Florida, performed in the original language, and to provide Spanish-language classes and workshops to the community.

Teatro Español will present staged readings of two great works by the renowned Spanish playwright Federico García Lorca:

Yerma

Tickets to the readings are $12 and can be purchased at madcowtheatre.com or by phoning the Mad Cow box office at 407-297-8788, ext. 1.

Spanish-speaking actors interested in participating in the staged readings are invited to audition. Audition information is available here. Auditions will take place at Mad Cow Theatre on Monday, August 8, 2016 from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm.

In addition to staged readings, Mad Cow Theatre presents Clases de Teatro, Spanish-language workshops and classes in theatre. These classes are free but have limited space, so participants are strongly encouraged to book in advance through this link.

Mad Cow Theatre Executive Director MiTzi Maxwell praises the programs, "We are very proud of Teatro Espanol and Clases de Teatro. I have truly enjoyed watching this program grow and deepen over the last three years. The combination of Lorca's magical language -- spoken as it was written -- and the presence of extraordinary talent led by Eliana Stratico -- it is a bounty for our community. Being in the theatre with these words spoken by these actors in the language it was intended is breathtaking and deeply moving."

Mad Cow Theatre representatives will be on hand at the NCLR National Council of La Raza Expo on July 23 - 25 to share information about the program.
