Veteran Broadway Director and Producer, Richard Jay-Alexander has been a vital part of the Broadway community for over 30 years-first as a performer, then as director of productions ranging from LES MISERABLES to Guys & Dolls.

The Cuban-born, Miami resident-now well-known for successfully staging concerts with luminaries including Barbra Streisand, Bernadette Peters, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Kristin Chenoweth and Bette Midler-strikes again next week on November 15 when he directs the star-studded grand opening of the new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts-a prestigious new venue that will both transform the city and reshape the way people think about Orlando as a destination for entertainment.

The opening celebration, conceived by Richard Jay, and musical conductor Mary-Mitchell Campbell features Tony-nominee (and Florida native) Norm Lewis, LGBT string quartet Well-Strung, singer/actor Michael Urie, Puerto Rican singer and actor Ektor Rivera, world-renowned Argentinian dance duo The Lombard Twins and many other luminaries, including soprano Deborah Voight, Broadway star Sierra Bogges among others.
