December Divas

Get into the spirit of the season when the December Divas cabaret hits the Plaza stage this holiday. Join the Divas as they belt, croon, harmonize, and delight their way through an assortment of new and classic yuletide songs including "Merry Christmas, Darling," "White Christmas" and "Hard Candy Christmas."

Take a break from the shopping frenzy and enjoy this wonderful holiday cocktail of a show. December Divas will have audiences toasting all the way to New Year's Eve.

December 16th through 19th; Thursday Evening, 7:30PM; Friday and Saturday Evenings, 8:00PM and recently added Sunday at 3:00pm


ThElma Gaylord students are presenting Bye Bye Birdie

The ThElma Gaylord Academy's junior high and high school students in grades 8 through 12 will present Bye Bye Birdie this weekend. This 1960's musical tells the story of rock and roll star, Conrad Birdie, who's been drafted to the army. As a farewell, the rock and roll star is scheduled to sing Albert Peterson's "One Last Kiss" and kiss a girl from Sweet Apple, Ohio live on the Ed Sullivan Show. Meanwhile, Rosie wonders if Albert, for whom she does everything, will ever leave his mother's shadow. You will enJoy Songs like, "Put On a Happy Face," Kids," and "The Telephone Hour." Bye Bye Birdie is directed and choreographed by Matthew Sipress with music direction by Kevin Smith. Performances will take place on Thursday, November 11 and Friday, November 12 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 13 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Academy presents a new work

Second through seveth grade students are performing Little Red: The True Story of Little Red Riding Hood, an original musical written by Stephen Hilton, Lyric Theatre's Director of Education. A fresh take on an old tale, Little Red: The True Story of Little Red Riding Hood is not only entertaining but also educational, mixing toe-tapping tunes with crazy characters and fun facts about Musical Theatre. This new work is directed and choreographed by Lyric Theatre's Director of Education, Stephen Hilton with the music direction of Kevin Smith.

Performances will take place on Friday, November 19 at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
