Lyric Theatre will open its 2010 Lyric at the Civic Center Season with the Tony Award Best Musical nominee Pump Boys and Dinettes on June 22 through 26 at the Civic Center Music Hall in downtown Oklahoma City.

This toe-tapping show is charming musical tribute to life along the open road. This entertaining musical is performed and orchestrated on the Civic stage by the actors themselves. Lyric's performance of Pump Boys and Dinettes will be under the direction of David Lutken. David will not only direct this charming, up-beat show this summer, but he will also be playing the role of Jim, one of the fun-loving pump boys. David enjoys a varied career as a director, actor and musician. David's Broadway credits include Inherit the Wind, Ring of Fire, The Civil War and The Will Rogers Follies as well as numerous music appearances at Carnegie Hall, the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra and the New York City Opera as well as touring internationally in Europe. Continuing his career as the creater of the touring show, Woody Sez, which had its première at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007, David played the title role in Lyric's 2009 production of Woody Sez.

Barb Schoenhofer, starring as Rhetta Cupp, one of the Double Cupp Café sisters in Pump Boys and Dinettes, started her career in Crown Uptown Dinner Theatre in Wichita, Kansas. For the next six years, she performed in four national touring productions while living in New York and Los Angeles. Barb's past Lyric Theatre performances include Anytime Annie in 42nd Street, Crystal in Little Shop of Horror, and was a featured singer in Swing!.
