Gallery Players continues its 49th season with the Holiday farce IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY by Ray Cooney, directed by Mark Harborth and running tonight, December 5 - 20, 2015.

Set during the Christmas season, this comedy focuses on Dr. Mortimer, the undistinguished head of Neurology at St. Andrew's hospital in London, who is nervously preparing for a highly prestigious lecture to be presented to the world's leading physicians. If all goes well it could mean a tremendous future, possibly a knighthood. The pressure is enormous; but the good doctor can cope. However, when a distraught former mistress shows up with some shocking news, Dr. Mortimer's stress levels go into orbit where they stay until the final twist of this fast-paced roller coaster of a farce. The complications that follow are classic Cooney: deceptions, mistakes and misunderstandings, punctuated with the constant interruptions of Mortimer's wife, his boss, the severe hospital matron, a police sergeant and his best friend, Dr. Bonney, who for some reason has to impersonate Marlene Dietrich, Fred Astaire and Al Jolson. Whew!

IT RUNS IN THE FAMILY opens Saturday, December 5th and runs for 12 performances through Sunday, December 20th, 2015. Performances will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00PM and Sunday afternoons at 3:00PM. The second and third Saturdays (December 12th and 19th) will also have matinees at 2PM.
