Blue Panther presents the New York premiere of award winning Bay Area comedian Alicia Dattner's solo show The Oy of Sex at THE BRIDGE@ShetlerStudios (244 W. 54th Street) from March 29 thru April 17. Directed by Tom Bentley-Fisher this fast paced, laugh out loud "romantic comedy" about love addiction has sold out shows at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, San Francisco Fringe Festival and San Francisco's Marsh Theater and was voted "Best of the Fest" at the San Francisco Fringe Festival and Pick of the Week by ABC News.

The Oy of Sex is the newest solo show from West Coast comic sensation Alicia Dattner who turns her comedic gaze on her own sexuality as she takes the audience through an emotional escape artist's history of her love life with hilarious results. Starting out as a shy girl obsessed with spin the bottle, her life becomes a whirlwind of hook-ups, makeouts, and all forms of romantic misadventures as she deals with the desire for love and intimacy and the fear of commitment. Says Dattner: "It's time to de-stigmatize love addiction and call it for what it is: our biggest All American pastime." In pure Amy Schumer/Mindy Kaling style she makes the point with her own brand of charming self-effacing humor.

Alicia Dattner was mentored by Comedy Central's Eugene Mirman and Bill Santiago and HBO's W. Kamau Bell. Her club appearances include The Improv, Gotham Comedy Club, Comedy Underground, Knitting Factory and the Punch Line. Her solo show Eat, Pray, Laugh! garnered a "Best Storyteller" Award at New York's United Solo Fest. She has appeared on NPR and had write ups in the Wall Street Journal, San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Examiner. The Oy of Sex was voted "Best Female Solo Show" at the San Francisco Fringe Festival and Pick of the Week by both the San Francisco Chronicle and ABC News. She was voted Best Comedian 2014 by the San Francisco Bay Guardian's Best of Bay Reader's poll and Best Comedian 2013 by the San Francisco Weekly Reader's Poll.

Director Tom Bentley-Fisher is an award winning theater director, teacher, and writer. He's directed over 100 productions in the U.S., Canada and Europe as well as founding new play programs in Berkeley, California and Canada. His all female version of The Illiad was performed at Merida Classical Festival at the Teatre Romano, a UNESCO world heritage site. His multicultural production Burning Vision will premiere this July at the International Theatre Festival in Barcelona.

Blue Panther was founded by producer and managing director Laura Lundy-Paine. Last year she brought Bay Area playwright Crystal Jackson's The Singularity to New York's Flea Theater. She also produced the world premiere of George Pfirrmann's AROUSAL paired with Harold Pinter's The Lover bringing the show to San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York for successful runs in each city.
