Kicking off their 2008/2009 season with Blue Before Morning by Kate McGovern, terraNOVA Collective joins the DR2 Theatre (103 East 15 Street, east of Union Square, New York) as their newest resident theatre company. terraNOVA Collective will be joining the Women's Expressive Theatre (WET) as only the second theatre company to be offered residency at the DR2 Theatre. terraNOVA Artistic Director, Jennifer Conley Darling, states "We are truly honored to become part of the Daryl Roth Theatre family. A residency has been something we have been striving for over the years, but never wanted to force-fit. When Daryl and her team offered this, we knew it was right time, with the right people. The missions of both the DR2 and terraNOVA have a synergy that we always knew would be a good fit."

Daryl Roth says, "DR2 Theatre was created to offer a nurturing and inviting environment for artists working in the Off-Broadway community. terraNOVA Collective is a wonderful group of artists who have devised an impressive format that gives many new voices an opportunity to be heard. Their thought-provoking productions are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of traditional theatre. DR2 is very pleased to have the company as our newest theatre-in-residence, joining The Women's Expressive Theatre. terraNOVA's upcoming contributions to our venue will certainly offer our audiences a unique experience with each visit."

terraNOVA Collective's 2008/2009 season will include:

Blue Before Morning By Kate McGovern, directed by Gia Forakis, October 18-November 8

At dawn, a New York cabbie picks up a teenage girl headed for the bus station. Before long, they're driving to South Carolina, accompanied by a very pregnant, foul-mouthed hitchhiker. The three strangers hit I-95 and find themselves on a journey of unusual coincidences and second chances that straddle past and present while leading them toward an unlikely future.

The Groundbreakers Writer's Workshop | Begins in late October

We pride ourselves on our script development. Groundbreakers, a weekly writers' workshop, focuses on this essential element in producing great plays and emphasizes growth in structure, story and dialogue. Through these workshops, we choose scripts to go on to the next level of development, a ten day rehearsal and staged reading. After careful consideration, one play from the second development tier receives a main stage production.

The Groundbreakers Reading Series | Spring/Fall 2009

A bi-annual reading series of work chosen through the Groundbreakers Writer's Workshop.

The 6th Annual soloNOVA Arts Festival | May 2009

The soloNOVA Arts Festival celebrates innovative individuals who push the boundaries of what it means to be an artist, aiming to redefine the solo form and reinvigorate the audience through the time-honored tradition of storytelling.

terraNOVA Collective will also offer residencies to various writer's and artists throughout the year.

terraNOVA Collective is a vibrant playground for artists devoted to innovative new and original theatrical works. Our multi-layered development process, solo arts festivals, and productions serve to nurture and liberate our community. Previous productions include Baby Steps by James Carter, Buck Fever by Juan C. Sanchez , Baby Love by Christen Clifford (as part of the 2006 soloNOVA Arts Festival), and Feeder: A Love Story (as part of the 2nd Annual undergroundzero Festival – 2008 Audience Award). terraNOVA Collective also produces the soloNOVA Arts Festival, Groundbreakers, the touring production of Masquerade: calypso and home, written and performed by Roger Bonair-Agard.
