Special preview performances are set for Monday, October 11th. The 3rd Annual After School Special: A Halloween Festival to Benefit the Story Pirates will take place Saturday, October 30th with performances, a costume contest, Halloween games and more scheduled throughout the day.

What do secret passages, mind-bending puzzles and ballet-dancing Frankenstein's have in common? They're all part of a new interactive haunted house brought to you by the Story Pirates!

HalloWHOA! is a haunted house influenced by you and your kids! Will the wolfman howl at the moon and gnash his teeth, or will he pour everyone tea and tell a story about his grandma? And how will you ever get out of this room? It's up to you and your kids to solve puzzles that move you through the house and decide just how silly or spooky it should be!

In their typical child-centric fashion, the Story Pirates let your kids call the shots, and the result is an interactive Halloween mystery that's never too scary and always hilarious. With all proceeds benefiting Story Pirates' literacy programs in low-income schools, there's no reason to stay home this October. Expand your brain and tickle your fancy at the Story Pirates house of intrigue that's so silly, it's scary!

The Story Pirates mission is to promote literacy as a vital part of childhood education, and to preserve the spark of youthful creativity often lost in the transition to adulthood. The cornerstone of the company is the Play/Write Program, a series of creative writing and drama workshops that lead to a musical sketch comedy show acted by adults and comprised entirely of stories written by kids. For six years, the Play/Write program has brought high quality arts programs to tens of thousands of students who need it most.
