Heathcliff Entertainment announced today their upcoming production of the wickedly witty 90s cult-classic The House of Yes, a semi-psycho, incestuous dark comedy of hedonistic proportions written by Wendy MacLeod. The House of Yes will run for 12 performances from April 15 to May 2, 2010 at the Access Theater, 380 Broadway, 4th Floor, in New York City. Brandt Reiter will direct a cast of five, including Hilary Bettis*, Marcia Everitt*, Tommy Heleringer, Jonathan Blakeley, and Zoë Swenson.

Who says "no" to Jackie-O? Not Mrs. Pascal, Jackie's whiskey-soaked mother; not Anthony, Jackie's lost little brother; not Marty, Jackie's prodigal twin; not even Lesly, Marty's new light within. No, no one says "no" to Jackie-O ...and, as the Pascals re-unite for a hurricane-blown Thanksgiving on their Kennedy-adjacent D.C. estate, that becomes a problem of simply incestuous, decidedly hilarious -- and quite possibly murderous -- proportions.

Director Brandt eiter has acted and directed in stage, film and television in New York and Los Angeles; he is currently Vice Chair of Playwriting for the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (Region I) and teaches Dramatic Literature and Acting at the University of New Haven. Brandt was jazz critic at LA Weekly from 2000-2004; he has also written for Village Voice and All About Jazz New York. Training: George Morrison (Professional class, 5 years); Earl Gister; Viatcheslav Dolgachev; Austin Pendlton. MFA, Theatre (Directing & Playwriting), Sarah Lawrence College; BA, American Studies, Temple University; Certificate, Film Theory and Criticism, Sorbonne, Paris.

Playwright Wendy MacLeod's The House of Yes premiered in 1990 and has been produced at Soho Rep, The Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, The Gate Theater in London, and The Washington Shakespeare Company. It became an award-winning Miramax film starring Parker Posey in 1997, earning a Special Jury Award at Sundance. MacLeod's other plays include: Juvenilia (Playwrights Horizons), The Water Children (Playwrights Horizons; L.A.'s Matrix Theatre), Things Being What They Are (Seattle Rep.; Steppenwolf; Bay Street Theater), and Sin and School Girl (The Goodman, Chicago). A New Dramatist alumna and a graduate of the Yale School of Drama, she is the James E. Michael playwright-in-residence at her alma mater, Kenyon College, and has been a guest professor at Northwestern University's film and theater departments. (wendymacleod.com)
