LESSER AMERICA announces the world premiere of THE BACHELORS by Caroline V. McGraw (The Vaults), directed by Portia Kreiger (Fun Home Associate Director, Baby Screams Miracle) at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place, NYC) with an opening night on November 7th for a limited run through November 29th, 2015.

"Inside a house, a house in a series of houses on a fraternity row, a house in which DVDs serve as coasters and drool stains the sofa, live three roommates far past their college days. A thousand girlfriends come and gone, a thousand drinks downed, a thousand parties crashed-every night the same, until now. There's a party tonight on fraternity row, but it is not the blaring music that makes sleep impossible. Tonight, these bachelors will understand what their choices have really gotten them."

THE BACHELORS stars Quincy Dunn-Baker (The Wayside Motor Inn, 2015 Drama Desk Outstanding Ensemble), Blake DeLong (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, Lucille Lortel Best Supporting Actor Nominee) and Babak Tafti (Small Mouth Sounds, The North Pool).

The production will feature set design by Carolyn Mraz (The Hatmaker's Wife, Charlatan), lighting design by Masha Tsimring (Wyoming) costumes by Sarah Laux (Baby Screams Miracle, An Act of God - Associate Designer), sound design by Elisheba Ittoop, movement choreography by Robert Westley (Hand to God, Trevor) and props by Jessica Jalal (Wyoming). The running time for this dark comedy is 90 minutes with no intermission.

LESSER AMERICA's most recent production was a sold out run of Brian Watkins' WYOMING directed by Flea Theater Resident Danya Taymor and featuring original music by internationally renowned musician and Fleet Foxes' frontman, Robin Pecknold. Other recent productions include two world premieres: Lucas Kavner's CARNIVAL KIDS, which became a NY Times Critics' Pick, and Nick Jones' TREVOR starring Steven Boyer, Geneva Carr and directed by Moritz von Stueplnagel (Tony Nominees for HAND TO GOD), which was also a NY Times Critics' Picks, as well as a Time Out NY Critics' Pick and Time Out NY's Honorable Mention for notable productions of 2013. TREVOR was published in Playscripts' Downtown Anthology, where LESSER AMERICA was featured alongside P73, Soho Rep, HERE Arts Center and other notable Off-Broadway institutions. The Lesser Americans are members of the Indie Theater Hall of Fame and the company has multiple NY Innovative Theater Award nominations. Recent productions have been supported in part by grants from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. LESSER AMERICA, founded in 2010, and co-run by Daniel Abeles, Nate Miller, Laura Ramadei, and Claire Siebers, is dedicated to affordable, accessible theater with high entertainment value that comes at a low cost to audience members.
