Finn Revue 'Make Me a Song' Begins Off-Bway 10/30

Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn is coming off Broadway and will open at the New World Stages on Monday, November 12 with previews commencing on Tuesday, October 30.

"Make Me A Song: The Music of William Finn is a theatrical revue featuring the songs of one of the most acclaimed composer/lyricists currently writing for the musical theatre. The theatrical revue features classics from Finn's well-known shows in addition with rarely heard selections from Romance in Hard Times, Elegies, and the yet to be produced The Royal Family." The musical, conceived and directed by Rob Ruggiero, had its world premiere last year at TheaterWorks in Hartford, CT.

The cast features: Sandy Binion, DB Bonds, Adam Heller and Sally Wilfert with Darren R. Cohen serving as Musical Director and Pianist. Set design is by Luke Hegel-Cantarella; costumes by Alejo Vietti, Lighting by John Lasiter and Sound Design by Zachary Williamson.

William Finn, current represented on Broadway with The 25th Annual Spelling Bee is the writer/composer of the Tony-winning breakthrough musical Falsettos (written with James Lapine). He has also written and composed In Trousers, March of the Falsettos, Falsettoland, Romance in Hard Times, A New Brain and Elegies: A Song Cycle. Finn wrote the lyrics to Graciela Daniele's Tango Apasionado (music by Astor Piazolla) and to the James Lapine version of A Winter's Tale (with Michael Starobin). Finn graduated from Williams College, where he was awarded the Hutchinson Fellowship in Musical Composition and currently teaches at NYU's Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. Mr. Finn recently composed the music for the Public Theatres' Central Park production of As You Like It.

Show times are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at 8 PM , Friday at 9 PM, Saturday at 5 PM and 9 PM and Sunday at 3 PM and 7 PM.
