THE NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, Monica Raymund of SISU THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS, and CAVE 76 PRODUCTIONS are pleased to announce the world premiere production of VOLLEYGIRLS, with book by Rob Ackerman (Tabletop - 2001 Drama Desk), lyrics by Sam Forman (book for F#%king Up Everything), music by Eli Bolin (I Sing, Roller Boogie TV: Sesame Street), musical supervision by Matt Castle, choreographed by Ryan Kasprzak (TV: Smash Tour: Billy Elliot), musical direction by Mike Pettry and directed by Neil Patrick Stewart (LA theatre: The Elephant Man - Ovation Award nominations). Performances begin Monday, July 15 and continue through Saturday, July 27. Opening Night is Monday, July 15 (9 p.m.).

Kim Brindell (Blackwell) was once a world-class athlete before she choked and became an Olympic joke. After years of avoiding the sport that shattered her, she finds herself in charge of a team of wide-eyed, misfit, high-school girls. With the encouragement of a headmaster who's had a crush on her since college, and the resistance of a hardline, helicopter P.T.A. mom, Kim finds a way to help the girls, to accept their help in return, and to win it all.

The production stars Susan Blackwell ([title of show]) as Kim Brindell, Chuck Karel (Hello Dolly (OBC)) as Ref, PJ Adzima as Xavier Ives, Juliane Godfrey (Goodspeed's Good News!) as Katie Kavett, Jennifer C. Johnson as Flo Hartline, Julia Knitel (Bdwy: Bye Bye Birdie) as Ingrid Hanson-Tuntland, Gerianne Pérez as Marisol Rodriguez, Allison Jill Posner as Jocelyn Andrews, Dana Steingold (Bdwy: Godspell) as Stretch Mandelbaum, Allison Strong (Bdwy: Bye Bye Birdie) as Jess Hartline and Benjamin Howes (Bdwy: Scandalous, [title of show]) as Glenn Kavett.

The production features scenic design by Ken Larson, costume design by Valérie Thérèse Bart, and lighting design by Jason Lyons (Bdwy: Bring It On, Rock of Ages). Richard J. Hinds (Bdwy: Newsies, Jekyll & Hyde, 9to5) is the associate director, Ellenore Scott is the associate choreographer, Jordi Coats is the assistant producer and E. Sara Barnes is the stage manager. Casting by Lindsay Levine, General Management by Carrie Walkup/Tom Smedes Productions and Publicity/Marketing consulting by Katie Rosin/Kampfire PR.
