F#@KING UP EVERYTHING
By Noah Weisberg, actor

A letter to my Mother:

Dear Mom,

I'd like to thank you (and Dad) for your constant support of my choIce To be an actor. You always taught me to approach my career with dignity and respect.

That's why I wanted to be the first to tell you about my latest show. Now, the title may sound a little controversial, but rest assured it's a heartwarming, funny musical about being true to yourself. Gosh, it sounds like something you'd have written if you were a playwright.

It's called...uhm...Well, the title is...You are gonna laugh when you hear this...I hope...It's called F#@KING UP EVERYTHING. Now, I know the title has the word F#@K in it, but the playwright cleverly uses the # and @ sign instead of the letters U and C, so it's not offensive. Right? I mean, you loved Urinetown and that had the word URINE in it. You thoroughly enjoyed Wicked and that title just sounds plain mean. And remember how pleasantly surprised you were to find out that Chitty Chitty Bang Bang wasn't a show about a stuttering hooker?

I mean what's in a name anyway? Our show may have a crazy title, but in actuality it's about true love, friendship, growing up...all lovely things. Of course it also deals with stoners, hipsters, cougars, and threesomes. Oh, and I have to go onstage in just my underwear. But at least I'll be half naked on stage with the amazingly talented Liz Larsen. She was nominated for a TONY for Pete's sake!

I guess what I'm trying to say, Mom, is that I don't want to you to judge a book by its cover. So be brave and open that book and explore its pages. Pages filled with heart. Lots and lots of heart...and also some references to drug use, sexual deviancy, and of course the word f#@k. But all in a really creative and funny way!

So, I hope to see you there on opening night Mom. We run October 6th - the 16th at the 45th St. Theatre. We have an awesome cast and an outstanding creative team.

And if you still have any doubts, just remember this: If our show wasn't absolutely fantastic, we never would've been chosen to be a part of NYMF. (Which by the way has nothing to do with being a NYMPHO...that's an entirely different festival.)

Love,

Your Curly Headed Son,

Noah
