Producer Mark Cortale has announced the world premiere of "Party in the USA," a brand new show by the internationally acclaimed singing string quartet Well-Strung, and directed by New Orleans' own drag superstar, Jeffery Roberson (aka Varla Jean Merman). The four performers, who specialize in pairing classical compositions by Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach with pop hits by Adele, Taylor Swift, and Kelly Clarkson, will perform for three performances only, at Cafe Istanbul in New Orleans, on Friday May 6 and Saturday May 7 at 8:00 PM, and on Sunday May 8 at 7:00 PM which will benefit Krewe of Armeinius. The show premieres in New Orleans followed by a week residence in NY at 54 Below in late May and then a summer run in Provincetown, MA. The New York Times recently raved about Well-Strung, calling them "a talented quartet of men that sings and plays string instruments and brilliantly fuses pop and classical music from Madonna to Beethoven." They made their second appearance on The Today Show this past October, and the foursome has quickly gained international attention playing in London, Rome, and Vienna, as well as selling out venues all across the United States. Well-Strung's new CD, titled "POPssical," debuted at #8 on Billboard's Classical Crossover Chart and #9 on Billboard's Classical Chart last fall. The album is available now at iTunes or on CD at CDBaby and features ten tracks including renditions of "Blank Space (Feat. Bach)" and "Royals (Feat. Palladio)" as well as the infamous ode to Hillary Clinton, "Chelsea's Mom" as a bonus track.

Described as talented and seriously trained musicians, as well as hunky and gorgeous, Well-Strung is composed of first violinist Edmund Bagnell, second violinist Christopher Marchant, violist Trevor Wadleigh, and cellist Daniel Shevlin. The group was conceived by producer Mark Cortale and Christopher Marchant. They have received critical acclaim at New York's prestigious Feinstein's/54 Below and well beyond, from the House of Blues in New Orleans to the Leicester Square Theatre in London. They have performed recently at the Vatican in Rome, appeared on Watch What Happens Live, and they have also performed with artists such as Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Audra McDonald, and Deborah Voigt.
