Paper Mill Playhouse Holds Children's Auditions for THE SOUND OF MUSIC, 9/15

Paper Mill Playhouse announces non-union, children's auditions for the acclaimed theater's production of The Sound of Music on Saturday, September 15, 2012. The Sound of Music will run at the Millburn Theater from Friday, November 23 through December 30, 2012.

Paper Mill Playhouse seeks GIRLS who look ages 6-16 and BOYS who look ages 12-16. Children and their guardian should join the line in front of the theater and enter through the front doors of the theater only. Audition sign up will take place in the theater's lobby on a first-come, first-served basis on Saturday, September 15, 2012. Sign up for ages 6 to 11 begin at 9:00am and sign up for ages 12 to 16 begin at 12:00pm.

"The last time Paper Mill Playhouse held an open-call audition for children in The Sound of Music, we discovered a talented young man by the name of Nick Jonas," commented Mark S. Hoebee, Paper Mill Playhouse's Producing Artistic Director. "Nick went on to become a major star both in the recording industry and on Broadway. Could the next Nick Jonas be at these auditions? I sure hope so!"

One of the most beloved and inspirational stories of all time, this tale of love and courage is Rodgers and Hammerstein's final triumphant collaboration. Based on the true story of the Von Trapp family this musical masterpiece has become a beacon of hope and joy for generations. You will revel in the glorious sounds of iconic melodies like "My Favorite Things", "Edelweiss" and "Climb Every Mountain."
