La Strada Ensemble Theater proudly presents Christine Nagy, co-host of The Bob & Christine Morning Show on 106.7 Lite-FM, in the world premiere workshop production of the lyrical and devastating play by M.F.A. Actors Studio trained and award-winning playwright A.J. Ciccotelli - Drowning in Euphoria.

In Drowning in Euphoria, Nagy plays Katherine Saint James, who in the midst of losing her husband gets a second chance with love. Alex is the young writer who saves her from drowning and falls head over heels in love with her. This love haunts his memory as he tries to write a book about their summer affair. Thirty years later, he is still trying to finish the book in hopes of putting her behind him. Passionate, tragic, and ultimately uplifting, Drowning in Euphoria is a shattering new play about what drives lovers together and what ultimately tears them apart.

"Drowning in Euphoria was originally written when I was 22 and it was an attempt to write the full length version of my one act The Dance," said Ciccotelli. "The Dance was the first play that I had produced. It was terrible but something in it made me revisit it time and time again and rewrite the play. February of 2014 the majorly revised version of The Dance opened at La Strada, and then we moved it to New York City and it played to positive feedback and sold out houses. My star was Christine and because of her support and beautiful performance I had the courage to pull Drowningout of my drawer and revise. It's a completely different animal than The Dance but it deals with memory, passion, and the act of creation."

Directed by the author, Drowning in Euphoria will be performed at the Jersey Shore Arts Center, 66 South Main Street in Ocean Grove, New Jersey at the 3rd Floor Herbst Theater from February 3rd to 5th. Ciccotelli will be in attendance on October 5th for a Q&A with the audience. Also in the cast are Ensemble Members Doug Bollinger, Donna Knowlton, W. Allen Wrede, and guest actors McKenzie Klein, Benjamin McGowan, Anthony Morici, Anthony Levi Morici, Gian-Soren Morici, Anthony O'Connell and Karen Vana-Grecco.
