Centenary Stage Company brings the unconventional and inventive to the Skylands Region with John Ahlin and Christopher Patrick Mullen's, Chip and Gus: A Ping Pong Play on October 31 through November 1 in the Edith Kutz Theater located in the David and Carol Lackland Center as part of the first ever CSC Fringe Festival.

Fringe theatre has gained national and international momentum with festivals popping up all over the country and world, most notably in the United States with the New York International Fringe Festival. This movement, called Fringe Theatre (or Fringe Festivals), provides a forum for experimental theatre artists and celebrates "risky" theater that pushes boundaries in both style and content. Fringe Theatre can incorporate traditional theatre, dance, music, puppetry, spoken word, film and visual arts to create a unique performance art that doesn't adhere strictly to one specific genre.

Written and performed by veteran New York City-based actors John Ahlin (An Enemy of the People, Arsenic and Old Lace) and Christopher Patrick Mullen, Chip and Gus: A Ping Pong Play is performed over a 90-minute ping pong game and tells the story of two colleagues who meet for their monthly ping pong game in the back of a nondescript bar in a nondescript college town. But this meeting is different. Tonight, to the real-time patter of paddles, buried secrets get uncovered, and the two realize that their lives are more entwined than they ever imagined.

Tickets for Chip and Gus: A Ping Pong Play are $22.50 to $25.00 for adults with discounts available for students and children under 12.
