The Jungle opens its 2012 season with DIAL M FOR MURDER, Frederick Knotts' skillfully written psychological tale that has thrilled audiences for decades. Bain Boehlke directs this classic murder mystery, starring Michael Booth (Glass Menagerie, Blithe Spirit) and Cheryl Willis (Shirley Valentine), on stage February 3-March 18 at the Lyn-Lake theater, 2951 Lyndale Av. S., in Minneapolis.

The play follows Tony Wendice (Michael Booth) who has married his wife Margot (Cheryl Willis) for her money. Now he plans to kill her for the same reason. He arranges the perfect murder and a brilliant alibi for himself, but plans go horribly awry. The cast also features Terry Hempleman as Max Halliday, Peter Moore as Captain Lesgate and Gary Briggle as Inspector Hubbard.

Playwright Knotts (Wait Until Dark) also wrote the 1954 screen adaptation, which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock and recognized by the American Film Institute (AFI) as one of its Top Ten in the mystery genre.

The Dial M for Murder creative team includes Boehlke (scenic design), Barry Browning (lighting design), Amelia Cheever (costume design), Sean Healey (sound design), John Novak (props), D'Arcy Smith (dialect coach) and John Stillwell (technical director).

Dial M for Murder performances are Tuesdays ($20) and Wednesdays ($28) at 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. ($33); Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. ($38); Sundays at 2 p.m. ($33); and Sundays at 7:30 p.m. ($28).
