Fridley Community Theatre to Present THE DINING ROOM This February

THE DINING ROOM by A.R. Gurney is a comedy of manners, set in a single dining room where 18 scenes from different households overlap and intertwine.

The play is set in the dining room, the place where the family assembled daily for breakfast and dinner and for any and all special occasions. The action is a mosaic of interrelated scenes-some funny, some touching, some rueful-which, taken together, create an in-depth portrait of a vanishing species. The actors change roles, personalities and ages with virtuoso skill as they portray a wide variety of characters, from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids. Each vignette introduces a new set of people and events.

Fridley Community Theatre was established in 2010 with an inaugural production of The Music Man. Programming has grown to include a winter dinner theater production and summer youth production in addition to the main stage summer musical.

A program of Fridley Community Education, FCT creates opportunities for individuals of all ages, whether on stage, behind the scenes or in the audience, to actively participate and/or appreciate the performance of live, high quality affordable theater in the Fridley area.
