From being homeschooled in the savannas of Kenya to attending North Shore High School, Cady Heron (English Bernhardt) has some huge adjustments to make. With the help of her new besties, Damian Hubbard (Ian Young) and Janice Sarkisian (Lyndsay Heather Pearce) she will embark on a new adventure. High School!
Musician and actor Chris Isaak, known for his signature 1950s rock 'n roll style and crooner sound as well as his falsetto and reverb-laden music, will entertain audiences in Overture Center's Capitol Theater on Tuesday, July 19 at 7:30 p.m
Dear Evan Hansen has been a long-awaited show for this reviewer and it did not disappoint. The show was inspired by the true story of Benj Pasek, the show's lyricist, who, after a high school classmate died of a drug overdose, witnessed classmates tell false stories of being part of the deceased student's life.
For their final production in the 21-22 season, Forward Theater Company will present Russian Troll Farm: A Workplace Comedy by Sarah Gancher. Performances are in the Playhouse at Overture Center for the Arts, April 21 - May 8.
Updated 10/18/2021. After over a year of Broadway tours being paused, productions are now beginning to announce returns to theatre across the country! Find out when Broadway will return to your city.
On the same day that Broadway went dark due to coronavirus concerns, the show went on for WICKED in Madison, Wisconsin. As the curtain rose, and before I was totally swept up in the experience of WICKED, I took a moment to wonder how it felt for the cast and crew to be performing when their Broadway relations were on a sudden hiatus, and how long would they continue their run? It turns out, not long. It was their final performance for the foreseeable future.
I had the pleasure of seeing A Bronx Tale with my friend Cassy, who had NEVER seen a musical before! (I know, right?!) I invited Cassy because the 1993 movie, off which the musical is based, is her favorite. Seriously, her cat is named Calogero, after the lead character in both the movie and the play. I was excited to see this show, and especially excited to see it through the eyes of a neophyte theater goer. I was not disappointed!
It's not like any other Broadway musical. I think people who aren't into Broadway, who don't know much about theatre are going to be blown away. It's not just a musical--it's a concert. You go expecting to see a musical, but you're on your feet.
