An Apocalyptic Vision in Heavy Metal

Enter the dark land of enchantment, the world of the Puppet Master in this glam-rock evening of supernatural horror and high jinks. Delight in the topsy-turvy world, set to Finnish heavy metal cello music. See inmates at an asylum dancing gleefully with the devil. Follow the outrageous Mohawk Man down the rabbit hole, and emerge in a world where Puppetmaster is in control. Delightfully creepy china dolls and figures in shrouds hold our hero captive. Finally they cross the River Styx, and even more otherworldly mayhem ensues. Come the dark side for one night and revel in this dream world!

Join Kanopy Dance for our 2018-2019 performances, which all feature celebrations — some tied to holidays and seasons, some simply expressing joy. And isn’t that what great dance is about? Translating emotions into movement that is more meaningful than words. Dance is naturally part of the rituals that mark the passage of time on the calendar — and the festivals that commemorate beginnings and endings, important milestones, change and growth. So celebrate with Kanopy throughout the year, as we create revels of all kinds onstage at Overture Center for the Arts.
