Oakland Heights Elementary presents a PUPPET ARTS THEATRE production of PETER & THE WOLF.

Two performances, made possible in part by a grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, will be presented at the school on Friday, September 16, 2016 at 9 and 11 AM. For more information call 601-484-4983.

Sergei Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" is an exciting way to introduce children to classical music and puppetry. The world-famous musical tale has been performed often, but very rarely using the unique Czech black theatre technique. This complex but stunning style of presentation allows complete freedom of movement for the almost-life-size puppets who interact on stage with a real-life narrator to create a feel of a big screen animated cartoon. The puppets for the show were designed by Sandy McNeal.

The show is directed by Peter Zapletal, Artistic Director for Puppet Arts Theatre. Actors/puppeteers who appear in the performances are T. J. McSparrin, Sydney Blackwell, Lesley Raybon and Peter Zapletal. J. C. Patterson is the on stage narrator for "Peter and the Wolf."

PUPPET ARTS THEATRE is devoted to bringing exciting and memorable performances to its audiences. Since 1968 this theater has thrilled children of all ages from Boston to Tampa and throughout the Southeast with magical and exciting theatrical experiences. PUPPET ARTS THEATRE is on the Performing Arts Touring Program of the Mississippi Arts Commission.

This children's theatre production will delight audiences of all ages.
