Menotti's Operas
Two Operas by Gian Carlo Menotti: 'The Old Maid and the Thief' and 'The Medium'.

The two operas are very different but similarities do exist between them. Director Shirit Lee Weiss says: "In our production I chose to emphasize the extremeness between the two pieces. In 'The Medium' we'll take the audience on a breathless journey of strangling pain in a closed space while in 'The Old Maid and the Thief' we'll celebrate life and femininity as well as a piercing social criticism and examining the fears of an individual inside a conservative community".

The operas will be presented with an accompanying piano.

Conductor and Musical Director: Yuval Zoran.
Director: Shirit Lee Weiss.
Piano: Yuri Brenner.

March 6 at 20:00, free entrance, the Academy's building, Giv'at Ram campus, Jerusalem.
