On the upcoming Holocaust and Heroism Remembrance Day a moving show will be brought by Prime Minister's Prize for Composers winner, composer Sara Shoham, and present a new and creative reading of "The Little Prince". The show will begin with singing by the Li-Ron choir, conducted by Ronit Shapira. Later on the composer will present the performance of "The Holocaust and the Little Prince?" which deals with the connection between the famous story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and the events of World War II and the Holocaust.

The show is a combination between sound and screen arts, of video art segments, docu segments from World War II, animation films, sketches and art works, as all of these are intertwined with the singing of the Li-Ron choir as well as other artists, all presented by Sara Shoham.

Einav Culture Center, City Garden Complex, Tel Aviv - April 20, 2017, at 20:30

The performance of "The Holocaust and the Little Prince?" is a new and creative reading of "The Little Prince" book, which appears to contain codes that describe the experience of its writer, a combat pilot who fought against the Nazis. According to this presentation this is not an innocent children's book but a protest against the society which solves conflicts with war. Metaphors from the book are presented as taken from World War II, like the Baobab trees which are analogous to the Nazis.
The presentation aims to make the Holocaust chapter in the history of the Jewish people and of humanity more accessible for future generations.

Israeli-born Sara Shoham graduated in composition, conducting and piano from the Rubin Academy of Music, Tel Aviv University. Among many prizes she received, her "...And they shall not learn war any more " (Isaiah 13:4), was awarded a prize by the Czech Ministry of Culture. In the prestigious Florilège International Competition for Choral Music held in Tours, France, she was awarded a prize for her "Enfants! faites attention aux baobabs!" (St.- Exupéry). Her work "Loquimini Veritatem!" (Biblical verses), was awarded a prize in the Spoor International Choir Composition Contest (Belgium). She devotes most of her writing to works for leading choirs in Israel and abroad. During the year 2000 she spent a great deal of her time training Israeli and Palestinian teachers of music and drama as part of a special collaborative project through M.E.C.A (the Middle East Children's Association). Sara Shoham is the recipient of the Prime Minister's Prize for Composition for 2002.
