Dublin Fringe Festival has announced a major festival programme for 2022 full of unmissable art experiences over 16 days and nights this September.
Writing as an art form has the ability to change perspective. One line of poetry or even punctuation can change meaning and understanding. Artist Inua Ellams will showcase the power of words when he returns to Dublin this summer to curate and host a series of exciting cultural events at the Abbey and across the city.
The festival will run for 16 days and nights as usual this year, staging 160+ performances of 30 events in 16 venues, including a return to beloved Dublin venues, outdoor stages at city landmarks and shows designed to be experienced at your place, or near home for audiences outside of Dublin. This is a festival of firsts with 26 world premieres and 3 further Dublin premieres.
This December, the Abbey Theatre will present Abbey Calling - a new initiative, bringing brilliant pieces of literature directly into the homes of those feeling isolated. A partnership with mental health charity, Aware, Abbey Calling sees 50 of Ireland's leading actors make up to 2,000 phone calls.
