In response to a special request by transition year student Ashley Murray from Newtown School, Waterford the Tivoli Theatre is delighted to present a special charity performance of "Hamlet - Prince of Denmark" in aid of The Hope Foundation on Thursday 10th February at 7.30pm.

This unique theatre will donate all profits raised through ticket sales for this Max Lewendel directed production to the work The Hope Foundation does with the street and slum children of Calcutta. Tickets for this charity performance are €20 each.

Shakespeare's most iconic and challenging play - arguably the world's greatest dramatic work, runs in the Tivoli Theatre from January 31st to February 20th. This production of Hamlet is sure to delight theatre goers and will also greatly benefit secondary pupils as they prepare for their English Leaving Cert examination; and the performance on February 10th will benefit the street and slum children of the vast Indian city.

The Hope Foundation, set up in 1999 to raise funds for one girls' home, now works with 16 Indian NGO partners to rescue thousands of children from the streets and slums of Calcutta, improve their quality of life, and give them a better future. Today, HOPE funds 64 projects including education; primary healthcare; shelter; vocational training; child protection; and drugs rehabilitation; and has reached out to almost 25,000 children through education alone and hundreds of thousands more through primary healthcare, in partnership with Irish Aid.

Tickets are €20 each and are available now on www.tivoli.ie or by calling the Tivoli Theatre on (01) 4544472. The Tivoli Theatre is located at 135 - 138 Francis Street, Christchurch, Dublin 8 and has a fully supervised car park adjacent to the theatre.
