An exhibition by ROBIN ARGENT of "Framed for Life" depicting a range of bespoke framing techniques used to enhance and preserve art and artefacts.

The exhibition opens at the Tuar Ard Gallery in Moate on Monday 26th May and is open to the public for viewing Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm daily for the months of June and July.

Robin lives in Moate and operates his bespoke framing business from his home studio. He is trained and certified as a framer to conservation standards as laid down by the International Fine Arts Trade Guild.

Amongst the items on display are original artworks by Mary Ahearne and Patricia Kelly, two local artists from Westmeath. These items have been FRAMED FOR LIFE by Robin Argent.

The untitled works displayed by MARY AHEARNE are on loan for the exhibition and are not for sale. In her own words:

"As an artist, I am really pleased to be associated with Framed for Life for the quality work that they create. They really are professional in their workmanship and always offer friendly advice to all their clients.

"It is very important not only to preserve my work but the right frame completes the art work, whether it be a painting, drawing or mix media. My work has been custom framed to compliment each individual piece. If you have any query or interest in my work, please email me at ahearnemary@gmail.com."

The titled works displayed by PATRICIA KELLY are for sale.

Patricia Kelly is a recreational artist, working mostly in oils. She has taken classes in the Paint Box Art School in Galway with Eamonn Dowdican in Sligo and currently with Stephanie Cuddy in the Roscommon School of Art. At present her interest is in Still Life, its growth and development through the history of Art and its enduring appeal in the modern world. She lives in Athlone and is a member of Athlone Arts Group.

It is advisable to ring Tuar Ard on 090 6482042 in advance of viewing.

Weekend viewing by appointment only.
