Galileo Galilei, who just gave the telescope as his invention, but on the starry sky was there first. Galilei, this icon of empirical science, who named the stars after his patrons and science policy. Galileo, the Inquisition "instruments" showed, which revoked under house arrest again to record his research on the mechanics, which he had set aside for the telescope. "There is already much found, but there is more, what can still be found."
"Life of Galileo" tells of Galileo, but also by the company to Galileo: the employees of his research factory of his housekeeper, his daughter and his noble almost son-in-law, examiner and attributable monks, curators and church people. -From the moment at which it was possible, as the planet moved to see the Earth.
Three times Bertolt Brecht has undertaken new fabric: 1938 in Danish and Swedish exile, 1947 after intensive collaboration with Charles Laughton in California in an English-language version, 1955 in Berlin. During the rehearsals for "Life of Galileo" at the Berliner Ensemble, Brecht died in 1956.
