Stage Entertainment France will be producing at Théâtre Mogador, starting on October, 28th 2010, its fourth musical MAMMA MIA! entirely translated into French, as were its previous productions CABARET, LE ROI LION and ZORRO, acclaimed by 1.5 million spectators in Paris.

Launched in London on April, 6th 1999, MAMMA MIA! has been seen by over 42 million people in 35 countries. 17 000 people are watching the show every night all over the world. Already played in 225 cities, MAMMA MIA! is a real worldwide phenomenon with its songs and its script translated into 10 languages. There is actually more productions of MAMMA MIA! playing in the world than any other musical. It is now time for France to have the chance to discover MAMMA MIA! in its own language.

Judy Craymer, the original producer of the show, wanted to create a real play with a new story. The show is based on the drama potential of ABBA's songs and their ability to create a credible story around themes of love, friendship and party. Convincing Benny Andersonn and Björn Ulvaeus, the two founders of ABBA, wasn't easy but Judy succeeded, thanks to an original script. She engaged Catherine Johnson, writer, and Phyllida Lloyd, director. The friendship between the three women is reflected on stage by Donna and the Dynamos.

Thanks to the immediate success in London, the show is exported to Canada, then to the biggest cities in the world. In 2008, while MAMMA MIA! is produced on four continents, the three creators went back to business to adapt their show to the screen, served by a prestigious cast (Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth...).

22 legendary songs of ABBA tell the story of Donna, a single mother living on a Greek island paradise. To celebrate the wedding of her daughter Sophie, whom she raised alone, Donna has invited Rosie and Tanya, her best friends. They used to be « Donna and the Dynamos ». Sophie wants to find the identity of her father so he can give her away at her wedding. She invites three men from her mother's past back to the island...

The story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship.
