Broadway au Carré is celebrating its second anniversary this month!

After over 30 performances and 20 open mics in Paris as well as several concerts in New York, the latest one to a sold-out house at Feinstein's/54 Below last November (also one of Broadwayworld.com's Cabaret Top 5 Picks), Broadway au Carré has established itself as the leading American musical theatre concert and open mic series in France. During the past two years, the best Parisian musical theatre performers, handpicked by Broadway au Carré's artistic director Lisandro Nesis, have collaborated with no fewer than 23 American songwriters, most of whom crossed the Atlantic to present concerts, readings or full-productions of their new works in Paris with the Broadway au Carré company.

The Broadway au Carré monthly events are like a magnificent French three-course meal: first, a cabaret concert by a featured performer, then an American musical theatre open mic, where some of the best local artists gather to belt out their favorite Broadway show tunes, and last but not least, the "American Composers, European Premieres" set where Broadway au Carré features a new musical theatre composer each month, with a set of songs that have never been performed in Europe before.

Tonight, February 11th is the date to remember if you want to come to Broadway au Carré's second anniversary. To celebrate in proper form such a special occasion, the series will feature the amazingly talented Isabelle Georges (Padam Padam, Titanic, Broadway en chanté) in a program completely dedicated to the music of Tony award winning composer Maury Yeston (Nine, Titanic, Grand Hotel). Alongside singer Frederik Steenbrink and pianist Yann Ollivo, Isabelle Georges will perform Maury Yeston's song cycle "December Songs" as well as excerpts from Titanic and Nine, as well as a song that the composer wrote especially for her.

The second part of the evening will consist of Broadway au Carré's well-renowned American musical theatre open mic, hosted on this occasion by Lisandro Nesis and Isabelle Georges and accompanied by Yann Ollivo.

Broadway au Carré takes place at Comédie Nation located at 77, rue de Montreuil, 75011 Paris, France. Doors open at 7 pm, showtime at 7:30 pm followed by an Open Mic at 9 pm. 13€ / 10€ (students) cover charge includes a drink. Reservations required online at www.comedienation.fr.
