À la fois thriller sanglant, farce romantique, opéra satirique et tragédie gothique, Sweeney Todd est la comédie musicale la plus ambitieuse de Stephen Sondheim, dont Tim Burton a tiré un film célèbre avec Johnny Depp. Après A Little Night Music, voici un autre chef-d'œuvre de Sondheim enfin présenté en France, plus de trente ans après sa création triomphale à Broadway.
