Broadway au Carré was born in Paris in February 2014 and a year later this American musical theatre concert and open mic series has become a reference in France and in Europe. Twelve months of sold-out performances at the Carré Parisien led to a special "Broadway au Carré - from Paris to New York" concert at the Duplex Cabaret Theatre in New York in December and now Broadway au Carré's international artistic exchange platform has reached a whole new level. All through the year, Broadway au Carré will be featuring concerts, workshops, readings and master classes by American songwriters, performers and directors, bringing joy to musical theatre lovers both in France and abroad.

Every first Wednesday of the month, you can enjoy an evening of musical theatre along with a good glass of red wine at Le Carré Parisien, a typical Parisian café and cave-à-vins. Broadway au Carré presents a cabaret concert by a featured performer, followed by an open mic, where some of the best local artists gather to belt out their favorite Broadway show tunes. The series also features a new musical theatre composer each month, with a set of songs that have never been performed in Europe before.

Broadway au Carré's Special Anniversary Edition will take place on Wednesday, February 4th. To kick the evening off, Seattle-born performer Lauren Van Kempen, already featured in one of the first concerts of the series, will present her new cabaret with Mathieu Serradell at the piano. The second part of the evening will include the "American Composers, European Premieres" set and an American musical theatre open mic, both accompanied by John Florencio and co-hosted by Broadway au Carré's founder and artistic director Lisandro Nesis and Corsican star Tatiana Santini. The featured composers of the month will be Douglas Lyons and Ethan Pakchar, and a selection of their songs will be performed by Tatiana Santini, Jessica Gabrielle and Mathieu Becquerelle.

Broadway au Carré takes place the first Wednesday evening of each month at Le Carré Parisien located at 1, rue du Général Beuret, 75015 Paris, France. Doors open at 7 pm, showtime at 7:30 pm followed by an Open Mic at 9 pm. 10€ / 8€ (students) cover charge includes a drink. Reservations required at reservationscarreparisien@gmail.com.
