Go Comedy! Improv Theater will welcome Ed Nahhat as its special guest for this week's Soapbox Derby at 8:00pm Sunday, July 12. Tickets ($5) are available by calling (248) 327-0575 or beginning at 7:00pm at the Go Comedy! box office.

Soapbox Derby is an improvised show featuring local musicians, comedians and community leaders. Each week's special guest presents stories, comic routines, or songs which the Go Comedy! cast uses to create on-the-spot scenes. Past Soapbox Derby guests have included Ferndale Mayor Craig Covey, WDET radio host Craig Fahle, Between The Lines publisher Jan Stevenson, and 97.1 FM The Ticket's Terry Foster.

This week's guest, Ed Nahhat, is a Macomb County attorney and the founder and Executive Producer of Water Works Theatre Company which produces the annual Shakespaere In The Park in Royal Oak, now in its ninth year and currently in rehearsals for Macbeth opening July 23 in Starr Jaycee Park in Royal Oak.

Sunday nights at Go Comedy! continue at 9:00pm with Rock-o-Matic, the fully improvised rock opera that takes the Go Comedy! stage by storm every Sunday night. Using only audience suggestions, the cast creates an on-the-spot musical comedy accompanied by a live band featuring Mikey Brown (Ferndale), and Ryan Parmenter (Plymouth) with Matt Naas (Ferndale), Pj Jacokes (Ferndale), and Jaime Moyer (Hamtramck).

Rock-o-Matic is followed at 10:00pm by Elemenopy an improvised show featuring the improv power-duo, Go Comedy! co-founders and producers Pj Jacokes and Chris DiAngelo.

Sunday Tickets are $5 per show or $10 for the evening.
Tickets are available by calling (248) 327-0575 or in person at 7:00pm Wednesday - Sunday.

The Soapbox Derby guest scheduled for next week, July 19, is Detroit area band, Mahoney www.mahoneyband.com.

Go Comedy! is looking for community & business leaders, bands, musicians, and artists who have great stories to tell to appear as Soapbox Derby guests. Please contact Pj Jacokes at pj@gocomedy.net for more information.
