DM Young Artists' Theatre Presents HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JR

Des Moines Young Artists' Theatre continues its mission to introduce students to the performing arts with their upcoming production of Disney's High School Musical Jr., featuring the largest cast in the nonprofit company's history.

It's the first day after winter break at East High School and the Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians, and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the start of something new. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy Bolton, and transfer Brainiac, Gabriella Montez, cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for their school's musical.

The smash Disney phenomenon comes to exuberant life in this 90-minute adaptation that is fun, educational and engaging for the entire audience. Featuring the infectious hit songs "Get'cha Head in the Game," "Bop to the Top," and "We're All in This Together," this is the perfect time to introduce your family to the magic of live theatre with Des Moines Young Artists' Theatre.

High School Musical Jr. is directed by Ryan Penning, with music direction by Francine Griffith and choreography by Megan Helmers. The cast features 44 students, ages 8-18, representing over 30 schools in Central Iowa.
