The Des Moines Community Playhouse's Final Act Ensemble presents their annual summer showcase, an evening of radio shows, Tuesday, July 18, at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for all ages and available online at www.dmplayhouse.com and at the Playhouse ticket office, 515-277-6261.

The Final Act Ensemble is "back on the air" with a whole new show for the summer season-with visits from several old friends from the Golden Age of radio such as Fibber McGee and Molly, The Life of Riley, George Burns and Gracie Allen, plus zany commercials and favorite songs from the period. The show also boasts an original script featuring the folks from Willisberg, IA, in a gossip-filled good time at the Good-Enough Grill.

The Final Act Ensemble is a troupe of performers ages 55 and older that presents classic and original radio plays, including commercials and sound effects. The Final Act Ensemble is in its ninth year at the Playhouse. Programs are available for youth, adult, and multi-generational audiences.

The Playhouse is beginning its 99th consecutive season and is one of the oldest and largest community theatres in the nation. Located at the 42nd Street exit of I-235, the theatre has presented a full season of shows since 1919 and also offers a wide variety of educational experiences including classes for ages 4 to adult, theatre trips to New York, and volunteer opportunities onstage and backstage.

For more information on the Final Act Ensemble and their summer showcase, contact the Des Moines Community Playhouse at 515-277-6261 or visit dmplayhouse.com. Des Moines Community Playhouse is located at 831 42nd St., Des Moines, IA 50312.
