Theatre Aspen School announced its Winter Conservatory production of DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, the Musical for students in grade 7 through age 19. The production will feature a cast of talented students under the direction of Graham Northrup, Theatre Aspen's Director of Education, and Musical Director Terry Lee.

All actors, singers and dancers in grade 7 through age 19 are encouraged to sign up for an audition time. Auditions will be held Monday, October 19 at the Red Brick Center for the Arts from 3:30 to 7:30pm. More information on auditions can be found at www.theatreaspen.org/education/winter-teen-conservatory.

Adapted from the hit 1988 movie by Jeffrey Lane, with a score by The Full Monty composer David Yazbek, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS garnered a staggering 11 Tony nominations. The show features all the irreverent humor of the film, plus vibrant musical numbers that will give students a rigorous learning opportunity, and audiences a side-splitting evening of musical comedy.

Speaking of the show selection process, Northrup said, "We wanted a show that would deliver a natural progression in skill-building for some of our more experienced students, as well as provide talented newcomers and younger teens with fun training in singing, dancing and acting. And of course, it has to be highly entertaining for the community."

The show runs for four performances at the Aspen District Theatre on Thursday through Saturday, Dec 17th - 19th, with evening shows at 7:00PM and an added matinee on Saturday at 2PM.

Theatre Aspen School (TAS) offers theatre education for students in Pre-K through age 19, as well as college-age students and adults. The school's approach emphasizes employing highly-qualified teaching artists to provide excellent, age-appropriate training based on national standards -- including performance, design and stagecraft -- in order to build skills, character and confidence in its students.

Audition and registration information are online at www.theatreaspen.org/education/winter-teen-conservatory. Tickets for DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, the Musical will also be available through the website, with an on-sale announcement coming in early November.
