Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds is a eight-piece powerhouse that delivers a blend of gut-busting soul, earthy rock, and New Orleans-inspired beats. The band embarked on their first tour at the end of April 2011, with the mission of taking the country by storm. By the end of the year, they had driven over 50,000 miles to play 150 shows in 28 states. They exploded onto the scene, opening for Dr. John, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and the Soul Rebels Brass Band. Sister Sparrow has played SXSW, Bonnaroo, Telluride Jazz Fest, and most recently the 2013 Firefly Music Festival. Baltimore Sun says “…frontwoman Arleigh Kincheloe has one of the biggest voices in the soul-funk business. Prepare to be blown away.”
