Mid-Day Arts Café Begins Seventh Season with Sneak Peek at VTA 2016-2017 Shows!

Victoria Theatre Association (VTA) begins the seventh season of the successful lunchtime arts preview series, Mid-Day Arts Café, Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016 in the Mathile Theatre, located inside the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center. September's Mid-Day Arts Café features a preview of Victoria Theatre Association's 2016-2017 Season showcasing Wright State University's (WSU) Department of Theatre, Dance and Motion Picture students.

In its seventh season, Mid-Day Arts Café showcases Dayton's vibrant arts community through live performances, interactive Q & A's, and sneak peeks of future productions. The 2016-2017 not only highlights professional arts organizations such as Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera, Dayton Philharmonic and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company but also adds student productions into the mix.

"Dayton has a number of colleges & universities that are preparing future performing artists for careers in the arts," says VTA Assistant Director of Education & Engagement, Justina Crawford. "This year, we are excited to have Sinclair, University of Dayton, and Central State University join the series to showcase their unique programs and inspire our Mid-Day Arts Cafe audiences.

September's Mid-Day Arts Café highlights the 2016-2017 productions presented by Victoria Theatre Association. Gary Minyard, VTA VP- Education & Engagement, and students from Wright State University host a program with selections from upcoming presentations of VTA's Premier Health Broadway Series' JERSEY BOYS, 42nd STREET, KINKY BOOTS, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL, and DIRTY DANCING, along with Projects Unlimited Star Attractions' ELF THE MUSICAL. Minyard will also discuss the 2015-2016 season offerings of the Morris Furniture Company Family Series, National Geographic Live! and other productions part of the Projects Unlimited Star Attractions schedule. A short Q&A session will follow the program.

VTA's Mid-Day Arts Café presentation is under the direction of Gary Minyard and Jamie Cordes, senior lecturer at WSU and stars Caroline Chisholm, Eli Davis, Natalie Girard, Kyle Krichbaum, Kody Mullins, Phillip Stock, Megan Valle, Cody Westbrook, and Meredith Zahn,

Lunch options for Mid-Day Arts Café patrons are provided by Citilites at the Schuster Center include: turkey on ciabatta; curry chicken salad on croissant; Mediterranean Trio (gluten-free/vegan); Kale chicken Caesar salad; and Kale Caesar salad.

Mid-Day Arts Cafe is a series presented by Victoria Theatre Association offering a variety of performances from locAl Dayton arts groups. In cooperation with the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance (Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera and Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra), Muse Machine, , DCDC, Stivers Dance Ensemble, Sinclair Community College, Central State University and the University of Dayton, Mid-Day Arts Café offers the chance to network with area arts lovers, view sneak peeks of upcoming performances, and get out of the office for an enjoyable lunch time!
